Over the years I have learned much about the subject. However. some people do not understand that there is a difference between marketing, promotion, etc. In the world of social media management, some people are valued for their marketing skills, others think they can do it all themselves. Organic is important, but bands and groups like Green Day and Vegas headliners such as Mat Franco and Piff the Magic Dragon use instagram ads. If they are using it, it seems ideal that almost every other magician or similar skillset should. They headline Las Vegas 7 days a week, have billboards, car ads, tv deals, and more. Most people in any other city barely even use car magnets. Just somthing to think about investing in as time goes on. In the world of AI by Google, Apple, and Meta, leads can be developed in ways with advertising which is paid for. Regular reels reach new people, bring in followers, and increase engagement. Hoever they dont always result in sales. Views for creators pay next to nothing to the point of slavery without a huge following, and social media overall is for marketing. When you pay for ads, that's advertising. If you put a sign on the back of an elephant and walk it down Hollywood Blvd or the Las Vegas strip, that's promotion.
I graduated business school after the military and studies marketing, advertising, economics, accounting, law, taxes and more. As time goes on I hope to share what I have learned in not just college but collaborated with CPA's and other professionals and learned over the years. Rule 1 is get a bookkeeper. It saves you time, gives you the financial statements you need for a bank loan, and they can introduce you to people with money to help scale because the best bookkeepers are also CPA's. If you start by hiring them as a bookkeeper, you cna negociate their accounting services every year during tax season, or quarterly if your business requires it.
